In a bid to cushion households from the rising cost of living, the Singapore Government has rolled out a one-time cash payout of up to S$1,300 in 2025. This measure is part of a broader social assistance package aimed at providing targeted relief to Singaporeans most affected by inflation, high utility bills, and economic uncertainty.
Why the Payout Was Introduced
Over the past year, many families have faced tighter budgets due to global price hikes and slower economic growth. The government’s 2025 support payout seeks to ease this pressure, ensuring that lower- and middle-income citizens, as well as vulnerable groups such as seniors and persons with disabilities, can maintain a reasonable standard of living.
Payout Amounts
The payout amount depends on household income and individual circumstances:
Category | Payout Amount |
---|---|
Low-income citizens | Up to S$1,300 |
Middle-income citizens | S$800 – S$1,000 |
Seniors | Additional S$200 – S$300 |
Persons with disabilities | Additional targeted support |
Payments will be made directly into recipients’ bank accounts through PayNow (NRIC-linked) or GIRO, ensuring a quick and secure transfer.
