BSNL, the government-owned telecom operator, is preparing to enter the smartphone market with its first 5G-enabled device. With this launch, BSNL aims to provide an affordable option for users who want to experience high-speed connectivity and modern features without spending too much. The upcoming smartphone is designed especially for Indian consumers, supporting the vision of Digital India.
Display and Design
The BSNL 5G smartphone is expected to feature a stylish design with a large display and thin bezels. Reports suggest that the device may come with a 6.5-inch or bigger Full HD+ screen, making it suitable for streaming, gaming, and everyday browsing. The design is likely to appeal to young users who prefer a modern look.
Performance and Hardware
For performance, the BSNL 5G phone may be powered by a mid-range Qualcomm or MediaTek 5G processor. This would ensure smooth multitasking, fast internet speeds, and better gaming performance. The device is expected to offer different configurations, such as 4GB or 6GB RAM with 64GB or 128GB internal storage, allowing users to choose according to their needs.
Camera Setup
The phone could feature a dual or triple rear camera system, with the primary lens being around 50 megapixels. The front camera is likely to range between 8MP to 16MP, making it suitable for selfies and video calls. Considering the expected price segment, the camera performance should be decent for everyday photography.
Battery and Charging
A 5000mAh battery is expected in the BSNL 5G phone, capable of lasting a full day on normal usage. The device may also support Type-C charging along with fast charging technology, ensuring convenience for users who are always on the go. Apart from 5G connectivity, standard options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS will also be available.
Price and Availability
The price of the BSNL 5G smartphone is expected to fall between ₹10,000 and ₹15,000, making it one of the most affordable 5G phones in India. BSNL may also introduce bundle offers with special 5G plans, giving users both a budget-friendly device and low-cost data services. With this launch, BSNL aims to strengthen digital access in both rural and urban areas across the country.
